In detail
Application Development at TechSum is for businesses that want an app or portal their customers, partners or staff log in to. We build mobile apps, web applications and portals, connect them to the payment, messaging and business software you already use, and look after them after launch.
What is application development?
It is building software people log in to and use. A customer places an order. A partner checks a commission. A field team records a visit. The app holds the rules, the data and the permissions behind each of those actions.
The screens are rarely the hard part. The hard part is deciding what the app should know, who may see what, and how it shares data with the rest of the business. That is where we spend the early conversations.
Who is it for?
Businesses that want customers or partners to do things themselves, instead of calling to ask. Companies launching a first mobile app. Teams whose systems do not talk to each other, so staff retype figures from one into another. And sellers who need payment gateways set up properly, once.
If you already have a quote or a half-built app and want a plain opinion first, the Tech Second Opinion gives you one in a short written report.
What does TechSum build?
- Mobile apps: iOS, Android and cross-platform, including apps that keep working without internet. See mobile app development.
- Web applications and portals for customers, partners and staff.
- Payment gateway integrations with Razorpay, Stripe and bank gateways. See payment gateway integration.
- APIs and third-party integrations. An API is an agreed way for two programs to exchange data, and we build the connections between your software and other tools.
- WhatsApp Business API: order updates, notifications and conversations sent from your own systems. See WhatsApp Business API integration.
- ERP, CRM and accounting integrations. ERP is the software that runs a company's operations, and CRM holds customer records. We connect them so the numbers agree.
- App maintenance and support: updates, fixes and monitoring.
Some apps are really products you sell. If yours is one, see Product Development. If you want an assistant or an automation inside the app, see AI Systems & Automation. Either way, it stays with the same team.
How does an app project run?
We use The Path. In Listen, which starts on day one, we learn who uses the app and what they need to get done. In Shape, before any build, we agree how it will be built, what the screens look like and a written scope. Build runs in sprints you can see, with a working demo each time. Launch happens when you are ready, after testing on real devices, with store submissions where needed and a full handover. Evolve is the support that follows.
You set the pace, and we agree the schedule with you at the start. For mobile apps, store reviews sit with Apple and Google, and we plan around them.
The TechSum Standard applies to every app we build:
- Secure by default: logins, roles and permissions decided before the first screen, so each person sees only what they should.
- Built to scale: more users, more orders or a new integration means more capacity, not a rewrite.
- Tested before it ships: main tasks tested on the phones your customers actually own, and every payment path tested end to end.
- Looked after after launch: updates for new phone versions, fixes and monitoring, logged where you can see them.
- Small changes handled, not invoiced: a wording change on a screen or a tweak to a notification gets done. It does not become a change request with a price on it.
- Honest advice, even when it means less work for us: if a web app does the job without a download, or a no-code tool will do for now, you hear it from us first.
How do you know an app is well built?
People finish the main task without help. It works on the phones your customers actually own, not only the newest ones. Payments arrive and match your accounts. Data moves between the app and your other tools without anyone copying and pasting.
It is also easy to hand over. You own the documentation, the test and live setups and every login, so another developer could pick it up.
When are we not the right team?
If you need a quick prototype with no real users, a no-code tool may be faster and cheaper, and we will say so. Games and hardware products are outside our work. You will hear both on the first call.

FAQ
Questions we get asked
Should I build a mobile app or a web application?
It depends on what people need to do and how often. A web application works on every device with nothing to download. A mobile app makes sense when you need offline use, notifications or the phone's camera. We recommend one once we understand the problem, not before.
Can you connect the app to the software we already use?
Yes. Connecting is a large part of this work: ERP, CRM, accounting tools, payment gateways and WhatsApp. We study what you run today and connect to it, rather than asking you to replace it.
Which payment gateways do you work with?
Razorpay, Stripe and bank gateways are the usual ones. We pick based on the currencies you charge in and the way your customers like to pay, and we test every payment path before launch.
Who looks after the app after launch?
We do, if you want that. Maintenance covers updates for new phone versions, fixes and monitoring, usually under a Care Retainer, and small changes are handled rather than invoiced.
Will I own the source code?
Yes. At launch you receive every source file, every login and a recorded walkthrough. Nothing is withheld, and nothing depends on us to keep running.
