Payment Gateway Integration

Customers pay without friction, and every payment matches an order without anyone checking by hand. We connect Razorpay, Stripe or a bank gateway to your site or app, with failed payments, refunds and payouts handled.

  • Someone matches gateway payouts to orders in a spreadsheet every month

  • You are adding online payments for the first time and do not know which gateway to pick

  • You need subscriptions, more than one currency or payouts to partners

The detail

Payment gateway integration connects your website or app to a service such as Razorpay or Stripe, which collects the customer's payment and passes it to your bank. It is for businesses taking payments online, for the first time or after a checkout that has caused trouble. We build the checkout, handle the awkward cases, and make sure the money lines up with your orders.

What is payment gateway integration, in plain words?

It is the work of connecting the gateway to your own system, so that when someone pays, the order is confirmed, your records update and the customer hears back.

A payment that goes through first time is the easy part. The real work is what happens when a payment fails halfway, takes a while to confirm or is attempted twice. A good integration handles those cases without your team stepping in.

Which gateways do you work with?

Razorpay and Stripe most often. Razorpay is widely used for rupee payments through UPI, cards, net banking and wallets. Stripe is a common choice for international cards and subscriptions. We also integrate bank payment gateways where a bank or a payment type calls for it.

We recommend one based on where your customers are, how they pay and what your registration allows. The same integration can start in one currency and add others later.

Who needs payment gateway integration?

Businesses adding payments to a site or app for the first time. Stores selling to customers in more than one country. Platforms that take subscription fees or pay out to partners. And teams whose checkout has a history of lost orders and confused customers, where the fix is usually in the parts nobody sees.

How we connect your payments

We map your payment journey first: what you sell, who pays, in which currencies and methods, and how orders, invoices and refunds work today. Then we list the edge cases, the rare situations that cause the most trouble: failed payments, pending payments, partial refunds, cancellations and duplicate attempts, each with the behaviour you expect. You approve the list.

We build in the gateway's test mode, where no real money moves, and run every case on the list. Webhooks are connected so your system learns the true status from the gateway, not only from the customer's browser. At go-live we follow a checklist, switch to live mode and run a real low-value payment with you.

What does a good payment integration look like?

A customer pays, sees a clear confirmation and gets an email. If their bank is slow, they see a pending message instead of a blank screen, and the order resolves itself when the payment clears. If they are charged and the page closes, the order is still created.

On your side, every payment links to an order, refunds can be issued from your admin screen, and at month end the gateway's payouts are matched to your orders, with anything that does not match flagged for a person.

How the TechSum Standard applies to payments
  • Secure by default: card details never touch your servers, gateway keys are stored as secrets and never in the code, and admin access to refunds is limited to the people who need it.
  • Built to scale: the integration is built so adding a currency, a payment method or a subscription plan extends it, not replaces it.
  • Tested before it ships: every payment case, including the rare ones, is run in test mode before a real customer pays.
  • Looked after after launch: gateways change their rules and connections, and a Care Retainer keeps the integration current and the payout reports checked.
  • Small changes handled, not invoiced: a wording fix on the checkout or a change to an order email gets done, not quoted.
  • Honest advice: if your store platform's built-in checkout already does what you need, we tell you, and you skip the custom work.
When this is not what you need

If you want a payment licence or plan to become a payment aggregator yourself, that is a regulatory matter for specialist advisers. We build the technology around gateways that already hold the licences. Tax and legal questions about your payments belong with your accountant or counsel, and we flag anything we notice for them.

What payments connect to

Payments sit in the middle of a business. If you are building a store, e-commerce development includes them. Subscription products need them inside SaaS development. Payments can start from a mobile app or from a payment link sent through the WhatsApp Business API. For how customer data around payments is protected, see Trust, Security & Compliance, where we implement and partner counsel advises on interpretation.

How do we start?

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Which payment gateway should I use?

It depends on where your customers are and how they pay. Razorpay is a common choice for rupee payments through UPI, cards, net banking and wallets, and Stripe suits businesses that take international cards or subscriptions. Some businesses need a bank gateway for a particular payment type. We compare them for your case and help you apply.

Can I accept payments in more than one currency?

Often, yes, but it depends on the gateway, your business registration and the currencies you want. We check what each gateway supports for your situation and build the checkout around it.

What happens when a payment fails or gets stuck?

The customer sees a plain message and can try again. Behind the scenes, webhooks tell your system the true status, so a payment that completes late is still recorded against the right order. That is what prevents the charged-but-no-order problem.

Is it safe to store card details?

We do not store card numbers on your servers at all. Card data stays with the gateway, through its own secure card form or checkout page. You still need sensible handling of orders and customer data, and we set that up with you.

Can you fix an integration that drops payments?

Yes. We trace where the order and payment records disagree, usually in the webhooks or in how failed payments are retried, and fix it. If you want a written view first, a Tech Second Opinion reviews the flow before any work starts.
