Brand & Identity
A brand people remember, applied the same way on your website, slides and print.
Brand & Identity at TechSum is for businesses that need a clear name and look, or materials that finally match. We design the logo, colours and type, write the rules for using them, and apply them to the website and documents you actually use.

In detail
Brand & Identity at TechSum is for businesses that need a clear name and look, or want their existing materials to finally match. We design the logo, colours and type, write the rules for using them, and hand you the files to apply them yourself.
What is brand and identity work?
A brand identity is the set of choices that make a business recognisable: its name, logo, colours, fonts, images and the way it writes. Identity work makes those choices and writes down how to use them, so every page, slide and printed card looks like it came from the same business.
It is a focused part of what we do, and it supports the rest, especially websites, apps and presentations.
Who is it for?
New businesses that need a name and a look before launch. Established brands whose materials have drifted apart over the years. Founders preparing a pitch deck. Product teams who need a shared set of buttons, forms and layouts for their app.
What does TechSum design?
- Brand strategy and naming.
- Logo and visual identity systems.
- Brand guidelines.
- Pitch deck and presentation design.
- UI design systems: the shared buttons, forms and layouts of an app, built together with Product Development.
- Print, packaging and collateral.
- Motion graphics and brand video.
- Copywriting and brand voice.
Identity connects directly to Web Design & Development, where the same colours and type go live on your site.
How does an identity project run?
We use The Path. Listen covers your business, customers and competitors. Shape gives you a few clear directions to choose from, and a scope. In Build we create the identity and apply it to real examples: a web page, a slide, a card. Launch delivers the files, guidelines and a short walkthrough. Evolve covers updates as the business grows.
The TechSum Standard applies throughout:
- Secure by default: master files kept safe and handed over in full, so your brand never depends on one designer's laptop.
- Built to scale: an identity that works as a tiny app icon and on a large sign, and grows to new products without starting again.
- Tested before it ships: the identity is tried on real pages, slides and print before it is final, at small sizes and on screens.
- Looked after after launch: updates as the business grows, such as a new template, a sub-brand or a refreshed deck.
- Small changes handled, not invoiced: a resized logo, a new email signature or a colour fix gets done. It does not become a quote.
- Honest advice, even when it means less work for us: if you need a large, research-led rebrand, a dedicated branding agency may suit you better, and we say so.
How do you know an identity is working?
Someone can recognise your materials without seeing the name. Your team can produce a new slide or flyer without asking a designer. The identity works at small sizes, on screens and in print. The guidelines are short enough that people actually read them.
Why does it help to get the brand and website from one team?
Most identities fall apart in the hand-over to whoever builds the website. When the same team does both, the colours, fonts and page elements in your guidelines are the ones on your site, a button on a web page and a button in a slide follow the same rules, and the identity is tested on a real page before it is final.
For product teams the same idea applies to app screens: a small set of shared buttons, forms and layouts, kept in step with the code, so new screens look like they belong. See Product Development for how that connects to a build.
When are we not the right team?
If you want a large rebrand with extensive research and a long consultation programme, a dedicated branding agency may suit you better. If you want a logo by tomorrow, a template service is quicker. We are a good match when you want a clear identity applied across your website and your key materials.

FAQ
Questions we get asked
What is included in a brand identity?
Usually a logo, a set of colours, fonts and the rules for using them, applied to the places your brand appears. A short guidelines document keeps it consistent long after we hand it over.
Do you design logos on their own?
We prefer to design the whole identity, so the logo works with the website, documents and slides. A logo on its own is possible, but it solves less, and we will say so.
Can you work with an existing brand?
Yes. Many projects refine or extend what is already there, fixing mismatches and building the missing pieces, such as a pitch deck or a set of app and website components.
Will the brand work on the website you build?
Yes. When the same team makes the identity and the website, the colours, fonts and page elements carry through exactly as you approved them, with no hand-over in between.
Do I own the files?
Yes. You receive every source file and ready-to-use exports at handover, so your brand never depends on us or on one designer's laptop.
